Vladimir Putin’s decision to announce a partial mobilization in Russia is an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, according to British Deputy Foreign Minister Gillian Keegan. She called the Russian military operation illegal.
“Obviously, this is an escalation that causes concern,” Ms. Keegan commented on the decision of the President of the Russian Federation on Sky News. She also believes that the UK needs to take “very seriously” the possibility of Russian use of nuclear weapons.
Mr. Putin announced a partial mobilization from today, September 21st. The Ministry of Defense announced that 300,000 reservists would be called up. The President of the Russian Federation also promised that in the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of the country, all available means of protection would be used.
